This book is dedicated to my mother’s teachings. Whatever I am today, all the praise goes to her efforts and wisdom. I lost my father in an accident when I was four years old. My mother was only about thirty-three, and my sister was eleven.

Despite being unprepared, my mother displayed courage and sagacity unmatched by any standards. Though faced with seemingly insurmountable odds, she succeeded. She showed my how not to succumb to even the most trying circumstances. I was extremely blessed to have as my mother. She gave me space and allowed me to make my own decisions, but she was like a burning torch lighting the dark.

I thank my wife Pallavi for patiently listening to me, when I used to tell to her the passages I wrote. When I set up late at night, working, she stayed awake to take care of any of my needs at that time, say a hot cup of tea, which I badly require while working hard.

Thank you, too, Archana Jain, who painstakingly helped edit this book. She took lot of pains in doing the same. Though she had a very hectic schedule, she was always available to help whenever I needed her.

Finally, this book is devoted to my children-my son Aryaman and my daughter Anamitra, who I hope will follow their grandmother’s advice as they take on the challenges of this wonderful life.
